I was born in 1981 and have been working as an artist for over 15 years, using a variety of different mediums,
However, for the past few years, I have devoted my time to working on metal garden sculptures, made from mild steel and stainless steel.
I mosty work with insect forms, fish, flowers and birds.
I like the colour contrast resulting from using a mixture of steels. The mild steel turns a rich brown with surface patination, it is then sealed in a layer of protective oil. The stainless steel remains bright silver to give a two tone effect, that I think can be more sympathetic to the natural environment.
Sometimes I use all stainless steel, for a cleaner, more contemporary look.
I use a distictive mix of rod, wrought iron componenets and cutlery.
My style varies from having industrial, robotic qualities, to the lyrical, elegant forms of the flower stems and birds.
The use of cutlery is a fun addition, as well as introducing another texture and reflective finish.
Designs can be tweaked and altered to fit different spaces, so please do get in touch if you have any specific requirements.
